UK & Ireland - Summer 2006

Day 9 - Bus Tour, Guinness Storehouse, Trinity College, Grafton Street & St. Stephens Green

Another rainy day for walking, but we all loaded onto another hop-on bus to tour Dublin and while on the bus we did manage to miss most of the heavy rain. Since all of us but Tina had been to the Guinness Storehouse, we only stopped to take some photos and visit the gift shop. After the bus got stuck in traffic we “hopped-off” North of the Liffey and crossed over the O’Connell Bridge toward Trinity College and Grafton Street. The sun and the street performers came out while we were shopping so we took advantage of the change in weather and walked through St. Stephens Green. Returning back down Grafton we stopped by the Westin Hotel for Afternoon Tea in the Atrium. Our first full day in Dublin ended with a good dinner at Da Pino a few blocks from our hotel.

The lake in St. Stephen's Green. St. Stephen's Green is a 22 acre park in Southeast Dublin. Entering the open garden in the center of St. Stephen's Green. One of the larger flower beds in the green. Our little friend was enjoying the park and gave her mother a lot to watch.
A wider view of the flower beds at the center of the green. Melissa enjoying the fact that the rain had stopped. Two of the smaller flower beds and the walkway from the lake. The current garden plan was done in 1880 for the city of Dublin. See our little friend enjoying the grass and birds?
