Day 5 - Driving from London to Edinburgh (on the left side of the road!)

Day five was our day to leave London and drive to Edinburgh, Scotland. We picked up a minivan at the airport and, much like putting together a puzzl,e got everyones' luggage into the back and were on the road. After a few quick stops we took a slight detour at Morpeth, a small town outside of Newcastle Upon Tyne, for lunch. Finding lunch was not as easy as we had hoped; most places were done with lunch and not yet open for dinner. We selected the first open restaurant to get a meal before we continued our trip up the coast into Scotland. Once in the city of Edinburgh there was much confusion in finding the hotel and once we found it, they did not have our reservation. They did have two rooms for the first two nights at there sister hotel, The Edinburgh Residence, only a few houses down. This hotel was a maze of non-air-conditioned rooms and hallways, but we had somewhere to sleep and they were quite large. We walked up the street to dinner and decided that finding someone else to do the driving around Scotland might be a good idea.

Our rental car that would take us from London to Edinburgh. All of our luggage - this is a minivan, yet there was not much extra room. We are almost in Scotland. Can you see the sign now? Too bad it was all yucked up. The Scottish countryside.
The view of the North Sea from the A1. The little dots on the green are some of the MANY sheep that we saw along the way. The wild flowers were everywhere along the countryside, here while we were stopped for road construction. The view from Chris and Melissa's first room in Edinburg. The silver minivan is ours. Chris and Melissa's living room, the bookcases are really drop down beds.
Bathroom number one. Bathroom number two. The bedroom, mid-unpacking. Another angle of the living room.
